Ola expands in Chhattisgarh, launches services in Bilaspur

Bilaspur, 24th February, 2017: Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, today announced the launch of its services in Bilaspur, Chattisgarh. Bilaspur is the second-largest city after Raipur-Bhilai-Durg, the tri-city metro of the state and also the headquarters for South East Central Railway Zone. Being one of the most important centers of transportation for Chattisgarh, Bilaspur is also amongst the 100 Smart Cities under the Smart City Mission of Ministry of Urban Development. With an endeavour to improve connectivity and mobility infrastructure for the city, Ola aims to ensure safe convenient and reliable travel for the citizens of Bilaspur.
How to book a Cab using the Ola app:
Customers can request a ‘Mini’ or ‘Sedan’ cab at their doorstep by clicking on the ‘Ride Now’ or ‘Ride Later’ icon that will be live on Ola’s app. Customers will be able to locate cabs close to them. On entering the drop location and confirming the request, available drivers in the vicinity shall be alerted through their devices.
Basis the information provided, the cab driver can choose to accept the booking request. On doing so, the customer will get a message with the ride details. The driver gets navigation on the Ola device to reach the customer’s pickup point. With the Ola app, customers can track their rides and also share the ride details in real-time on a live map with friends and family. Additionally, they will also get a system-generated bill immediately on completion over an email.

Apart from the option of paying for their rides in cash, customers in Bilaspur will also have access to Ola’s e-wallet, ‘Ola Money’, that will aid digital payments in light of the recent demonetization move. Ola mobile app is powered with standard safety features like in-app features like Share Ride Details, Emergency Contacts, SOS, Number Masking, System generated bills, etc. With more than 150 cabs available on Ola mobile app currently, Ola aims to scale up to 800 cabs over the next 6 months.
