New Delhi, November 4, 2016:Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, today announced the launch of ‘One way’ trip fares on Ola Outstation, Ola’s smart mobility solution for inter-city travel. Bringing more flexibility, convenience and cost-effectiveness to the recently launched Ola Outstation; the introduction of ‘One-way’ fares allows customers to avail one-way bookings at reduced fares. One-way on Outstation gives customers the option of booking a cab for an outstation trip without having to pay for a round trip that they haven’t taken. This has been made possible due to the sheer scale of Ola, as the largest transportation platform, connecting 500+ cities and towns across India with its unique Outstation offering.

Raghuvesh Sarup, CMO and Head of Categories, Ola said, “Ola Outstation is a ‘made for India’ solution, bringing the unique Ola experience to inter-city travel, with the same level of convenience and reliability. Through Ola Outstation, we are structuring the fragmented outstation travel segment like never before. With the introduction of ‘One-way’ trip fares, we are bringing increased affordability, from the efficiencies of scale that our platform has built. This is yet another first of its kind innovation that is based on our understanding of the Indian consumer.” He further added, “Connecting over 500 cities across the country, Ola Outstation is yet another step in keeping with our mission to build mobility for a billion Indians by providing locally relevant, smart and sustainable mobility solutions.”
‘One way’ trips have been rolled out in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Kanpur and the number of cities are set to grow substantially in the next two months. Additionally, through an advance booking feature, Ola Outstation also allows a commuter to pre-book a ride, upto two days in advance. Ola Outstation comes with the best fleet of cars and trained, verified and top rated driver partners. To ensure that a customer enjoys a smooth & comfortable on-road experience, every cab on the Outstation category goes through a stringent 22 point check.

Within 5 months of its launch and presence in over 45 cities, Ola Outstation has witnessed a month-on-month growth of 50%; making Ola, a leader in the inter-city smart travel solution segment. The unprecedented success of the category has been supplemented by innovative technology solutions aimed at benefiting customers and driver-partners alike.

How does Ola Outstation work?

The booking process for Outstation remains the same as booking an Ola Micro or Ola Mini for travel within the city. The user needs to select ‘Outstation’ from the category list displayed at the base of the Ola app. Upon selecting the category and filling in the destination details, the user will have to fill in the date and time at which he/she would like to avail the service. Post that, the user needs to book from the packages and cab category of his/her choice.
