Ola partners with Bangalore City Junction Railway Station (SBC); dedicated ‘Ola Zone’ to offer reliable commute options to travellers
Also enables booking through a concierge desk for users without a smartphone or internet connection
With over 20 parking spots, Ola promises ETAs as low as 2 minutes
Bengaluru, October 7, 2016: Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation has partnered with the Bengaluru City Junction Railway Station (SBC) for a dedicated Ola pick up zone within the railway station premises. The arrangement will enable Ola driver partners to park their vehicles at a designated area inside the SBC premises, and offer a range of mobility options to thousands of travellers arriving in the city, everyday. For customers without a smartphone or Ola App, deputed Ola representatives will book a cab and share driver details over SMS.
Bengaluru City Junction Railway Station (SBC) is one of the busiest railway stations in the country with a footfall of over 2 lakh passengers everyday. With this association, Ola aims to provide a consistent mobility experience to hundreds of thousands of passengers, arriving at the railway station, everyday. Customers can make a booking from their app soon on arrival and proceed towards the Ola Zone, where their designated cab and driver will be waiting. Ola has also stationed few representatives at the Ola Concierge desk, to book a cab on behalf of passengers without a smartphone or internet access. Ola has over 20 parking spots ensuring the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) as low as 2 minutes.
Earlier this year Ola signed a similar MoU with the Kempegowda International Airport for a designated ‘Ola Zone,’ resulting in a seamless experience for customers and driver partners.
Karan Singh Shekhawat, Vice President Operations at Ola said, “We have always been focused on building a seamless mobility experience for customers. By being accessible for citizens in prime locations like the City Station, we will be able to solve for their mobility needs with absolute ease and convenience. Since our recent partnership with BIAL earlier this year, we have been working on providing the same level of convenience across other public utility spaces in the city as well. This collaboration is a major step towards that goal.” He further added, “Lakhs of commuters visit the busy Bengaluru City Junction railway station every day. Dedicated Ola Zones will offer these hundreds of thousands of visitors, easier accessibility and availability of cars at the touch of a button and through concierge desks, with lower ETAs and convenient pick-up points.”
Ola aims to replicate this model across other key public utility spaces in Bengaluru as well as across the other cities it operates in.
