Ridlr and NMMT join hands to launch the “Navi Card” to enable cashless and convenient mobility solution for Mumbaikars

  • The HDFC issued National Common Mobility Card can also be used at any retail establishment that accepts RuPay cards

Mumbai, March 12, 2019: Aligned to the government’s vision of one nation one card, Ridlr, a subsidiary company of Ola, India’s leading mobility platform and one of the world’s largest ride-hailing companies, has recently partnered with the NMMT (Navi Mumbai Metropolitan Transport) and HDFC Bank to announce the launch of “Navi Card” – a RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). This open loop smart card will enable travelers in Mumbai to enjoy cashless commute in NMMT buses. The Navi Card can be used by simply tapping it on the ticketing machine allowing commuters to experience hassle-free mobility without having to worry about carrying exact currency of small denominations every day. Additionally, the card can also be used by commuters for purchases at retail establishments that accept RuPay cards.

Speaking on the occasion, Shirish Aradwad, Transport Manager, who has been spearheading strategic technological innovations at NMMT stated, “NMMT and Ridlr together introduced one of the first mobile ticketing solutions for buses in India. Carrying the partnership further, Ridlr has worked with us to make NCMC based ‘NAVI CARD’ based ticketing, a reality for commuters in Mumbai. We are one of the first few agencies in India to have implemented this. The Ridlr team has played a pivotal role in ensuring that the smart card launch was successful”.
